View Residency Openings → ONMM Residency Pathways to AOBNMM Board CertificationONMM is, and always has been, a primary specialty dedicated to the study of neuromusculoskeletal (NMM) disorders and osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM). Completing an ACGME-accredited ONMM residency builds a strong foundation for evaluating and treating neuromusculoskeletal disorders across outpatient, inpatient, surgical, pediatric, and OBGYN settings. Since the 2020 merger of AOA and ACGME graduate medical education, ONMM residencies follow ACGME milestones built around osteopathic principles and practice. The RAAO and AAO Post-Graduate Committee have developed suggested curriculum guidelines to help programs and residents meet these milestones. Historically, certification was earned through a traditional three-year residency or a one-year Plus One program; some integrated programs also led to a second primary board certification.
